With support from the Walmart Foundation, Enactus teams in Brazil, Canada, China, India, Mexico and the United States are making real, tangible impact in the lives of women through the Walmart Women’s Economic Empowerment Project Partnership. By working side-by-side with Enactus teams to master new skills and knowledge, women are starting businesses, increasing profits and obtaining jobs in the workforce. When women are empowered to seize economic opportunity, other areas of their life are often benefited, as indicated by one woman assisted by the Beijing Language and Culture University Enactus team’s 2013–2014 Women’s Economic Empowerment project:
With the help of the students in the BLCU Enactus team, indeed I was changed. My confidence grew as well as the amount of money I earn. At present, I am more willing to open my heart to connect and communicate with the people around me. My husband and my child have also noticed these changes in me.
